The Challenge

KeystoneCare is a nonprofit organization providing hospice and palliative care as well as home health and private duty nursing services in the Philadelphia region. As more hospice and home health organizations become privatized and the market has become more competitive, KeystoneCare faced a number of challenges in attracting clients, ensuring its partner health systems were delivering a steady stream of referrals, and in generally ensuring that families were aware of their brand and services. Grimm & Grove was brought on to develop a complex integrated communications plan to help the organization grow and thrive—and an early and essential component of that plan was rebuilding the organization’s website.

Foundational to all of our work was refreshing KeystoneCare’s messaging and mission to better reflect its differentiators: This is a boutique agency that focuses on personal attention to patients and families—a rarity in the increasingly for-profit, corporate healthcare industry. When we revamped the site we frontloaded this new language, emphasizing warmth, kindness, tailored solutions, academic expertise, a uniquely comprehensive suite of services, and a powerful history of leading hospice care in the state. 

The existing site was wordy, short on imagery and difficult to navigate. The new site is defined by consistent branding and user-friendly design, an approachable color palette of blue and white, and bold, fresh fonts. Updated site navigation allows visitors to intuitively find their way to the services they need. Clean, minimal page layouts keep the focus on what matters—what KeystoneCare offers and why it’s a leading provider—while photos of patients put their concerns front and center.
