Client:
The 2016 Democratic National Convention

On the heels of the 2000 Republican National Convention, the 2015 Papal Visit, and our coordination of Philadelphia’s Olympic bid, Grimm & Grove was brought in to help with the 2016 Democratic National Convention. An event as big as this one would scare many, but given our expertise in the area, we brought our well-honed formula to the table to make the event a success.

The Need
Volunteers were essential to producing the 2016 Democratic National Convention. The predicted volunteer numbers were a part of the bid process and the most critical component of a successful event of this size.
The Insight
Grimm & Grove’s model from the 2000 Republican National Convention was looked upon as the foundation for success – only this time we had access to social media, email and online applications

The Solution
We utilized social media for not only recruiting, but also maintaining the personal touch with organized volunteer groups. Our Volunteer Program committee included professionals who had experience running massive volunteer efforts every day. Their expertise, resources and network were an invaluable ingredient of the initiative’s success.
Beyond Communications
The Result

Yet another successful, well-run and historic event that managed political (and meteorological!) hurdles. And once again, Philadelphia shined… even when it rained.
